October 29, 2004

First off, let me just say "thank you" to everyone who has taken the time to respond to my Blogs. Although I haven’t gotten back to you individually, I am trying. This is all ew to me, so you have to bear with me for a bit to get into a routine. Just to let you all know, I am feeling better so again thank you for the well wishes, THEY REALLY WORKED, LOL!!!

This week was slow for me, I only had to work Thursday so it (the time off) gave me a chance to not only get healthy again, but also let me brainstorm some great ideas for my apartment. It’s weird coming down from working every day last week to just the one day this week. It (soap work) really is like a rollercoaster. Anyway, I received so many suggestions about decorating (color schemes, throw rugs, plants to add life, etc.) that my head is now on overload just to process it all. I feel like a walking "Bed, Bath and Beyond". I will say that I need to get the rest of my things from home (Virginia) especially my young Frank Sinatra Mug Shot poster; yeah I’m kind of an old soul.

I did happen to get to see a great short promotional concert this week which was a highlight. "Simple Plan," an alternative pop band, is releasing a new album and the casts of GL and ATWT were invited to attend the show. A few of us went and it was crazy! I met up with Stephen Martines (Tony, GL), Agim Kaba (Aaron, ATWT), and AJ Lamas (Rafi, ATWT) which was great because they’re great guys and we just had an amazing time. I would have to say that I will most likely be getting their CD. I have an eclectic taste in music and I was pretty impressed with their set. If anyone wants to help feed my taste in music and recommend some other great artists please feel free (and I do mean any artist) and I’ll let ya’ll know what I think.

As far as the show is going, I am gearing up to have some tasty, heated scenes with Lizzie. It’s so funny reading everyone’s comments about her and their dislike of her character and then turn around and hang out with Crystal. She really is a sweet person in reality, LOL, I know you’d never guess it though! I really think that her dog "Roxy" is going to be my leading lady, costuming is already telling me that they’re trying to piece a matching outfit together for us…, I don’t like that idea. We’ll see soon enough though.

Let me just reiterate my thanks to everyone for the responses on the blog site and add that if there are any specific questions, please feel free to ask. OH, and by the way I’m feeling the SOCK MONKEY idea, thanks JK and CK! Until the next entry, please keep watching everybody!

John -

Glad you're felling better, of course it's only b/c of everyone's warm wishes, LOL!
You, Crystal, and Roxy are all really great in your secenes together, but the idea of your outfits matching Roxy's might be a bit over board.
As far as artists and music goes turn on the radio, listen to different stations, and find something you like.
Well gotta go.

Hey John!
Glad you're feeling better! That's cool that you enjoyed the Simple Plan concert. I'm a music freak. You've got to hear Gavin DeGraw. He's amazing! I went to one of his shows and I was VERY impressed! Amazing voice, and very talented artist! His voice sounds the same live as it does on the CD (imagine that?! lol) He's got some really good songs. Anyway, check him out! ;)
Glad to hear that things at work are going well. I've got ghetto CBS and it doesn't air GL :( I'm bitter. I know, it's crappy. But I do enjoy hearing that things are going well for you. :)
Well, I better get going, I hope you have a good weekend. Going to any Halloween parties this weekend? Dressing up? At work I dressed up as a pregnant nun. LOL I know, I know...horrible. But it got a few smiles. ;)

Hey there ... Glad you are feeling better! I can honestly say I can't wait to see your scenes with Crystal Hunt. I really think in someway that Coop and Lizzie could balance each other out. I must say that "Roxy" is a cute dog but John after meeting you I don't think I could see you in costuming to that extent. LOL

Take Care,

Hey John,
Really glad you're feeling better! You're in my prayers.
I thought I was the only person who could like Simple Plan, and Sinatra at the same time! Whats you're favorite Sinatra song? Mine's got to be Summer Wind, with The Way You Look Tonight a very close second! I have to agree with who ever said Gavid DeGraw, I'm going to see him next Friday night, So looking forward to it! Also, there's a little known band called Limit Point, they are awesome, I think you'll love them. Their website is . What other kind of music do you like?
Well talk to you later. Best Wishes,

Oh and great scenes with Crystal lately! Really awesome!

Glad you're feeling better! This would have been the weekend to go home to Virginia - it was 75 here in NC and I know it was similar in VA. An absolutely gorgeous Halloween Weekend - and one where anything can happen since UNC beat Miami today.

As for Lizzie/Crystal - often the most villianous characters are played by some of the kindest people - at least that's been my experience when I've met different actors in person. I saw on Tammy's Blog where they played quite the trick on you in Florida - knowing the history of pranks among the GL cast, I'm sure you'll have no problem finding someone to help you play a prank in return.

I'm glad you liked the Sock Monkey idea. I'm thinking of going into business...making/selling. The only downfall is that I haven't actually ever made one. It can't be too hard though!

Any plans for Halloween? I have to work... sucks, but at least I can dress up!

Have a nice week.

Pranks?? I didn't know they're playing pranks on you! That's great. They better watch out though, 'cause you have an army of pranksters behind you (and lots of experience!). Good luck john!

I must agree with the person who said it was a gorgeous weekend down in VA..75 degrees at FedEx Field..too bad the stupid Skins lost--but i'm starting to not really expect much from them anymore. maybe next week will be better. anyways..glad you're feeling better! i will talk to u soon.

I am just blown away that someone who is a cast remember on the best soap opera ever would have a somewhat "journal" for their fans, friends, and family. I love how you are down to earth, and really tries to connect to people this way. By sharing your thoughts and ideas, (and I don't mean just about the show) it makes people like me appreciate that fact that not all "superstars" are stuck up snobs.
I truely love your work, and are thrilled to see you everyday. (because you are worth taking a double look at)

But I do have a few questions to ask. I know alot of cast members and GL can sing.... can you? and Who (any star) would you say has inspired you the most in this profession?

Thanks again, Becca

Hi John! I'm glad to hear you're feeling better! It must have been really tough to work, but working only one day must have really helped you feel better.

I really enjoy watching you on GL. I hope I get to see more of you soon. I loved it when you bull-dozed through the Spaulding gate! That absolutely rocked! And the storyline with Lizzie's puppy is cute too. No girl can resist a guy with a puppy. It's like a gravitational pull that cannot be resisted, lol!

Also, I really enjoyed meeting you at the St. Judes Benefit this year. You are so down-to-earth! It was absolutely hilarious when you attempted to take a picture of Mandy Bruno and I, and took a picture of yourself on purpose! I'll never forget it! That picture gives me a funny story to tell everytime someone looks at my benefit pictures!

Much love to ya, and I hope to hear from ya!

Dear John,
I was so excited to meet you during your GL fanclub weekend. You're my favorite actor and I love to watch you on the show. I hope that you remember me....I'm Lynne with an E (or at least that was what you called me). I have a picture posted on my blogger site, so maybe that could help you to remember if you don't. That was such a great time, Ricky Paull Goldin did such a great job putting everything together.
I was very surprised to see what a decorator you are!! My family had just bought a new house, so we've constantly been decorating every room, in order to customize to everyone's specific needs. So, if it makes you feel any better, I too feel like a walking "Bed Bath and Beyond", although it is fun to add your own taste to your private living space. I hope that you had fun on your week off, and I look forward to seeing you with "Roxy" on-screen. Take-care!

Hey John! You haven't made an entry in a while so I'm skeptical, but I'm just seeing if this is a quicker way to get in touch with you than your phone - you know, that thing you never answer =) J/K I was wondering if you were coming home for Christmas - if so we all need to get together at some point. Mandy will be around, and Dave and me and Ed. I'm not sure about Khalid. Anyway, hope everything's going well! Give me or Ed a call and let us know. Tootaloo, Ellen

Hi John,
I think you are great on GL. I especially love the scenes with Lizzie. I am glad your Christmas was good and you got to go home. I finally got to be with my friends after pulling a rough semester. School sucks at times. Are you ever going to tell us if there is anyone special in your life??? We all want to know.
See Ya!

Ok so I know this is an old post but I was bored and started reading all the posts. Simple Plan is amazing, and i'm not just saying that because they're from my home town, if you like them you've got to listen to Something Coorperate. Besides that, if you haven't already heard of Franz Ferdinand, The Killers, Switchfoot, Deathcab for Cutie and my fav, John Mayer you should totally give them a listen!

I thought of more artists David Grey, Jem, Ray Lamontagne, Jack Johnson, Guster, Jason Mraz, Keane, Belle and Sebastian and Turin Brakes you have to give them a listen! That's all I can think of right now :P
also it's "Something Corporate" not whatever I wrote before :S
