WINTER WEATHER

It’s Friday, December 9, 2005 and everywhere I look there is snowfall. It’s truly Christmas in New York City. Now for those of you who love this winter weather, it’s the place to be, but for those of you who don’t, you’ll love my new weekend adventure. I am getting ready to head off to Los Angeles for the weekend (on business mostly)! Before I depart though, I want give you a quick recap of the past few weekend adventures.

First off, Happy Holidays to everyone and my apologies for not getting them out sooner. Trust me, you all were in my thoughts but it was just all the traveling and cooking that kept me away from the computer. My girlfriend, Sarah, and I traveled down to the Richmond area for the Holiday and split our time half with her family and then the other half with mine. It’s different though, you know, being so close to someone that you start to share holidays. It takes some getting used to, but I have to say that TWO dinners are better than one! Besides lots of family bonding and sleeping (as I specialize in that primarily), I spent the remainder of my time horseback riding. It’s kind of a new fad for me that Sarah’s family has helped me with, and now I can say that I can officially ride “bareback”, LOL! This may not be the prettiest sight yet but at least I am staying on. Overall, my Turkey Day/Weekend went pretty well. Please let me know some of your HOLLA-day stories or some of your Horror-Day Stories, all are greatly appreciated.

This past weekend I was able to go down to Richmond yet again as I was extended the invitation by the CBS affiliate (who also put on our Paramount’s Kings Dominion weekend) to take part in their “Kick-Off Christmas Parade”. Although I am not originally from Richmond, I have been down there quite a bit so they (CBS-Richmond) figured just being from Virginia was good enough, LOL. I am sorry that I didn’t put a comment about this up sooner, giving those individuals who were close enough to travel to the area sufficient notice. For those of you who were at the Parade, you all were so kind and fun to spend the afternoon with. Now before I go any further, I have to say thank you SO much to both Sheryl Miller and Rob Cardwell for being awesome yet again! Thanks for the gloves ya’ll and let’s do this again SOON! The whole crew down there was amazing and I wish I had more time to go through and mention everyone by name, but I must begin to wrap this entry up as I need to head out the door in a moment.

I have finally received word about the airdate of the new NBC show “BOOK OF DANIEL” that I was fortunate to work on in my spare time from GL. The kick-off date is January 6th (Friday) at 9pm and will be followed up by a second episode at 10pm. From then on, the episodes will air Friday nights at 10pm. Please watch and send me your feedback. Speak as freely as you wish, no offense will be taken, I PROMISE! I will just say that it is a different character from Coop in some ways.

As far as what’s to come on GL, what did everyone think of the new Ava/Coop story line twist? Love to hear some feedback! I will mention, as I have seen some buzz about me needing to be shirtless again (always makes me blush), that Lizzie and I have some very sensual stuff coming up SOON! It was definitely HOT enough to make me blush a few times WHILE we were still shooting it. Crystal Hunt is so much fun to work with and professional too, YOU ROCK GIRL!

Anyway, that’s all for me now, I must head out to the sunny West Coast for a few days, but I will return next week with some fun stories to tell, I’m sure. Happy Holidays again everyone and I will speak with you all again soon.

P.S. I hope that everyone who has been asking for autographed pictures has received them??? Please let me know if there are any problems with this and I will thus have to let my Thunderous Voice Rain Down upon those in charge…..or maybe just ask nicely???!!!

Oh John I can not believe it you posted!! Happy Holidays to you too! I can't wait to hear about LA!! Anything we can look for you to star on? I personally think you would be great staring in a movie!

I got your autograph and it made my day... ok month...year for sure! It also shut my husband up for teasing me so much so thanks for that!

I like you and Ava, the recent scenes that aired made me laugh you guys were cute together. Any story line that you are in is my favorite! You could be watching paint dry and I would watch! (But if you are watching paint dry could you do it shirtless).

I have heard about your and Lizzies scenes coming up and I can't wait to see!

Good luck in LA and thanks for the autograph again! You ROCK John!!

I agree with Candice I would follow you anywhere! But next time you are down south I will be there..if you let us know that is.

((hugs))

Hi John... be careful on those horses! You asked about the Ava twist...I know Lizzie is leaving and Ava needs a good man. NOT Sandy. Coop is a little young for her, but that's no biggie. I think it'll be nice. Well you have a Merry Christmas! :-)

Hola John,

I have to say, it was a pleasure to have you join us here in Richmond for our Christmas parade. Both you and Sarah are very cool. It was great to meet you both. I would love to make it up to NYC sometime. Don't think it will be before the end of the year though. I will definitely check out your new series on NBC. It looks very interesting. Tell Sarah I said "hello". Have fun in LA and Merry Christmas!!

Your Richmond Ambassador..ha

John,

Happy Holidays to you too!!!! I'm glad you had a great Turkey day and got plenty of sleep. LOL

It will be interesting to see you in the "Book of Daniel"

I'm still trying to get used to the Coop / Ava pairing. Personally I can't wait to see the Coop / Lizzie stuff.

John, when are you going to have any appearances in North Carolina huh? It would be nice to see you again.

Merry Christmas!

Nice to see you post again John! I'm glad to hear that your Thanksgiving was good...and that you had plenty of time to sleep, LOL. I had Thanksgiving day off from work, since Barnes and Noble is closed on that particular day, but I had to help open on "Black Friday." Not such a fun day to be working in retail, but we all survived.

As for Coop/Ava, I'm still trying to process the fact that Crystal Hunt is leaving, so I'm afraid anything I say would be a bit biased still. I'll wait until Lizzie is actually out of the picture, and then give you my opinion.

By the way, GL needs to do more fan events in the middle of the country. St. Louis would be a nice place... :)

Before I go, I want to share with you an odd little observation I've made about your last three blogs (including this one). The one on September 19 was on my birthday...the one on November 11 was on my niece's birthday...and the one today, December 9, was on my nephew's birthday. Just a little observation that I think is way too weird.

Until your next blog, stay safe, stay happy, and take the time to throw a snowball or two.

I wish I knew you were in Richmond at the parade! I live like 2 blocks from the parade route. But when I woke up that morning my boyfriend and I thought it was too cold to get our lazy butts down the street to watch it. NOW I'm kicking myself! :) As for Coop and Ava, I'm lovin' it. You guys are cute. I'm sad to see that Crystal is leaving the show, though. But I'm glad we'll get to see you guys get closer before she goes! Good luck with the miniseries - I'll definitely be tuning in.

Hi John!

What's doing? How was LA? I hope your trip was great (hopefully u'll remember to tell us about it the next time u come here - u still owe us a Kim Zimmer story from last time and I wanna know what happened with "Tommy" that left u not yourself the next day, LOL). ;)

You want Thanksgiving stories? Two days before turkey day I saw U2 at MSG - which was amazing beyond belief! I really hope u got to see them while they were on tour here...

I also watched the rehearsals for the parade in front of Macy's...caught American Idol winner Carrie Underwood singing - love her!!

Congrats on "The Book of Daniel"! I was hoping there was a good reason u weren't onscreen a lot lately at GL. I will always support all your endeavors and will let u know what I think of it as soon as I see it!

As for Coop/Ava, your scenes definitely merit mention as being successful. You probably know more than we do about where the story is going, and as long as ur having fun, I'll watch to see what happens next. :)

I hope u aren't freezing your butt off walking to work now that there's a strike - truly sucks especially being this time of year when it's super cold! :( Hopefully it will end soon...

Later!
Cher

P.S. Just wondering...Did u ever name your kittens? :)

Hi John,

I'm writing this here since you don't have general e-mail thing set up. Anyway, I am a director in NYC, (primarily theater) and a big fan of your work (I've been watching GL for almost 10 years since a friend was on it and I got hooked). I think beyond doing terrific acting, you also have a great deal of presence and it really travels through the screen.

ANYway, I am writing because I have not seen anything about your acting background or training. I'd love to know where you've worked/studied before and what other kinds of roles you've done. Maybe you've discussed it in a previous blog--if so, can you point me toward it?

As for you and Ava, I'm all for it. Maybe its just the two actors who have the great chemistry (rather than the characters), but I think its a dynamite combination.

Keep up the great work and have a great holiday.

What's this about Lizzy leaving GL? Is it true? Love both you and Ava together - nice chemistry! Hopefully the writers will see the sparks and put you and Ava as a couple - no offense to Lizzy, but the "love" is not there! Hope your X-Mas was great and you have a Happy New Year!

Hi John, this is my first comment, although I have been visiting this site for a while. I saw you when you came to Kings Dominion for the GL Supersoap Weekend. I was literally inches from you and let me just say that you are even more beautiful in person. Thanks for being such a nice guy, especially to all your fans. I did catch the Book of Daniel yesterday. It was a good show and I will continue to watch. How do I go about getting an autographed picture? I wasn't fortunate enough to get one in Richmond. The line was far too long. Guiding Light is my favorite soap and I love your character Coop. Yes, we would love to see you shirtless again. It is such a treat. LOL. Thanks for everything. I will post again soon.

I personally am hoping you get to sing a solo on the show, I would love to hear you sing and I can't wait to see your character progress and I hope you hook up with that guy!! ;) LOL
Oh, yea you were very adorable on soap talk! I loved seeing you in an interview!
