I hope that everyone had a peaceful and relaxing Easter Break or Spring Break or if you don’t celebrate Easter and weren’t on Spring Break, just a great couple of weeks (since my last entry actually). I had a two week period off from the show and really took advantage of it…Back to Virginia, Baby! It was peaceful and relaxing and involved mass consumption of crappy foods, lots of going out with friends, doing laundry for free, sleeping in, driving cars (not public transportation), and even visiting a retirement home to talk with and surprise some unsuspecting grandparents (not mine) as a favor to a family friend. Overall, it was a great trip but like all trips, it ended just as it was really beginning. OH, and by the way, I have a bone to pick with a certain reader of this site……LOL!

To start things off I do have to mention a few great events that will be coming up in 2005 that fans can attend here in New York City where you'll have the opportunity to meet your favorite Daytime Celebrities; not just from Guiding Light but from other New York soaps too!

First: The 1st Annual “Evening with Daytime Stars” benefiting the MS Care Center of Greater NY hosted by Ricky Paul Goldin on May 19, 2005. The event will go from 7pm to 10:30pm and will feature Celebrities from Daytime Soaps, Daytime Talk Shows, and high profile professional athletes. This special event will be held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in their Empire Ballroom. This is a great cause and we’d love to have everyone who has time and change to spare to come out and have a great evening with all of us. If you have any questions about this event you can contact Linda Weingar at “Pro Events Inc.” at (813) 814-0301 or check out their web address at www.proeventsinc.com.

Second: is the Shorefront Friends for Hospice Softball Game which is Saturday, June 11, 2005 at Midwood High School Field, Avenue K and East 16th St., Brooklyn, NY. The gates open at 11am and the game starts at 11:30am. This game pits CBS NY daytime against ABC NY daytime! That’s right, GL & ATWT versus AMC & OLTL once again and if I heard correctly, CBS is the reigning champs so come on out if you can and support your soap, your side, your team, or your player(s). If you’re an ABC fan, then the more the better because honestly, they need all the help they can get, LOL!

Third: The Guiding Light Fan Club Weekend taking place from Friday October 14, 2005 to Sunday, October 16, 2005. This annual event which many of you are already familiar with packs so much charity work and some incredibly fun times into one amazing memorable weekend, and is once again fast approaching. There are so many events that take place over this weekend that I can’t even begin to mention all of them but please check them all out at http://www.officialglfanclub.com. To add to this same weekend, the 11th Annual Daytime Television Salutes St. Jude’s Children event will take place Friday Evening the 14th of October. This event includes all your favorite stars from CBS, NBC, and ABC daytime so this will truly be a weekend to remember.

For more on all these events, please check out the Guiding Light official web page at the address I listed above and get all the details about what’s coming up. PHEWWWW! Alright, so now that I mentioned all of that, I can let ya’ll in on a comment I received. It’s nothing horrible but something that’s very true about how I feel. Let me know what ya’ll think about it (including the writer):

“It seems like you talk how my husband talks (if you have conversations like that-) pretty much it drives me crazy. It's takes him 45 mintes to tell a 15 minute story. Half the time I'm like- here let me finish that sentence for you, now let me finish that one! Oh but God love him.”- lara ann

….um….well what are you trying to say here? My entries are too long? My stories are boring you? You want to finish my stories up for me? WHAT ARE YOU TELLING ME!!?? LOL, I’m only kidding with you, Lara! I think it’s funny that you included that because I know it’s a fact. I’ve been told that many times and I just can’t seem to help the fact that I try not to omit any details from any story and I don’t seem to care how long it takes. I appreciate your honesty, Lara and so, in honor of your comment, I will keep this entry short. One last thing before I go though: I recently filmed a “Lowe’s Home Improvement” commercial which should start airing in mid-April so be on the look out for it along with an interview by E! Entertainment talking about “The 50 Hottest Southern Stars” which airs again on April 7, 2005 at 8pm and then on April 10, 2005 at 6pm on the Entertainment channel. I believe you can preview this segment at www.eonline.com/On/special/50SteamySouthern/index.html. So if you’re looking for a good laugh, check it out and let me know what ya’ll think, of course! I hope that so far 2005 is finding everyone in good spirits and I look forward to more of your comments. All the best!

Long winded? Nah...and even if you are, I'm thankful. First of all, I love to read your stories...and secondly, anytime I can get more than a grunt or a one-word answer out of a man, I am pleased to no end! So, you go right ahead!

I'll be on the lookout for your TV spots...how fun! I'm sure they're great. And, I will (of course) attend as many events as possible this year. I'll definitely be at the GL weekend if nothing else, but I'd love to make it up for the softball game as well. I had a great time last year!

One more thing. How are you gonna come to Virginia and not come to visit ME? Come on now! HaHa! But, I am glad you had a nice break anyway!

Hey John,
I just wanted to say that I too like the fact that you add in the details of your stories. It helps us visualize and get a good sense of what you're talking about. :)
Anyway, I look forward to seeing the commercial and your appearance on E!'s "50 Hottest Southern Stars"!

By the way...where are you in the commercial? Is it a speaking line?

Glad you're doing well! Keep us posted!

Much Love,

Oh John..John John..where do I start hmm? First of all I am going to the softball game and to the St Jude event and surprise I am going to the fan weekend but my question is why are you not let me repeat that..not going to the performance on April 16th? Hmm I mean Tom will be there and you know he has half of my heart too (the other half is yours lol)

Now you had a break and got to rest up..must be nice to do that since i had to work alot no breaks for me..so thanks for rubbing that you got to sleep in and stuff (lol) and finally I received the lastest issue of CBS Soap In Depth and I was shock to see a nice article on you looking ever so much like a GQ model and a photo of you and your nephew who looks so cute..aww.

I wanted to also say I enjoy reading your blog (even if they are so longer I fall asleep on them lol) and watching the great work you do on GL..hope we get some more good scenes *coughlovescene* in the future

Hey John,

Well, I wouldn't say you're long winded. I guess meticulous would be a better word to describe your entries. Which is fine with me! If your entry's exceptionally long, I just skim it and then I'll go back later when I have time and read it. I've already abandoned my blog. I don't have the time to keep up with it, so good for you for taking the time to write your entries. Although I always feel as if I'm intruding into a part of your life I have no business knowing about. :)

Keep up the great work and I'll attempt to catch your commercial. I have a tendency to not pay attention to commercials and if I've recorded something, I just fast-forward through them. But I'll try to pay attention whenever a Lowe's commercial is on.

Hey John!!

What's doing? This is my first post to u because basically I've been a lurking "reader" until now and was too lazy to create a blog account in order to reply, but I finally did it! :)
First thing I want to say is: Welcome to Brooklyn! I hope u like it - I've lived here all my life and despite the crowdedness factor, it's home and I love that I'm so close to the city which I come to whenever I'm free (especially to shop)! I'm sure it's not the same for u since u don't have all your friends and family here :( but I'm so glad that u're in my area code!! :) If u want to know anything about this area, email me at Cherolika@aol.com.

I'm not good when it comes to GL events only because I can't commit - it's weird - u'd think because I'm right here I can go to everything, but I guess it just doesn't work out that way. I have gone to the softball game a few times - Midwood HS is within walking distance from my house, LOL! So, here's the deal - if u go, I'll go!

As for your being long winded, I absolutely LOVE IT! You can't please all the people all the time - but I hope u reconsider and continue writing every detail...

Congratulations on your new nephew - I saw his pic with u in SID and he's gorgeous! Good reason to go home often!! :)

Hey John,

I have the same problem when it comes to telling stories, I get told to shut up or hurry up ALL the time. And my stories are usually pointless...so at least people care about yours, haha. So ramble all you want! This is your damn blog! haha...if they don't want to read it, they can scroll through it. lol. I'm just kidding, I love reading your stories.

I did see you on the E! thing...looking quite handsome. Good to know you like a nice southern gal. ;)

Talk to you later,

Hey John!

Just wanted to stop by and say hi again. We talked at the Dulles Expo Center event in January, if you remember. :) I know it's been a long time and you've met many, many people since then, LOL I'm the one who went to Potomac HS.

Love reading all of your messages, and no, they're not long winded! Keep 'em coming! Will be on the lookout for your TV appearances!

I'll be at the Marco Island events at the end of the month, so I hope to chat with you again there!

Hi John!
Well, I'm one of the few that loves a good long post. I like the details. Of course, I'm also the girl that laughs at those REALLY long birthday cards just because they keep going on and on and on...
Looking forward to seeing you on E!Entertainment and at the end of the month at Marco!

I just wanted to say I love your stories. The longer the better, you have a way of telling a story so everyone can feel like they were there. Keep it up.

I will make a point to watch your E! interview and be on the look out for your commercial.

Congratulations to your whole family on the new addition.

I've always wanted to call you that! hehehe. Umm...I like reading your stories. They make me laugh/smile. And I do appreciate the details, since I cannot be there to see these stories happen, details are a wonderful blessing. Whenever one of my friends sees you on GL, they're always like..."He's so cute!" I'm always like..."Haha! I've met him! He even took a picture of himself with my fun-saver camera!" So you see, details rock! (And I love telling that story by the way)
Well, I'm glad to hear that you had a great Easter/Break. I can't wait to see you again this October!

Much love,

Hey John!

Thanks for all of the info on the NYC events. Will you be participating in the big softball game?

I've missed seeing you on GL recently ... I'm really looking forward to some more scenes with you and Crystal. Any inside scoop on what's coming up with your characters?! :)

I'm glad you got some time to spend with family and friends... and it was nice of you to surprise some grandparents!

I just wanted to say that long stories are fine. I like the details it really makes me feel like I was there. I'd rather have a long conversation with a guy than hardly talk at all. And don't even get me started about you and your nephew... Because my nephew is my life lol. I LOVE the fact that you are so close with your family. If I didn't have my family, I don't know were I would be. I still haven't found my Mr. Right, but once i do i hope his is as close to his family as you are to yours. So to wrap up... Long entries are great and so are you!

First John Chapter Five-

I love your blog! I hope you honestly was not upset by my comment. I meant it positively- I promise! Hey I married Chris (the insane story guy) didn't I? I think it's cute.

And it means your very smart. When a person dosen't pay attention to details that means they are not fully aware or totally not concerned with the atmoshpere around them- or just not bright enough to take everything in.

So all in all- your details is very good, and you should consider writing a book.

(sorry I didn't mean to actually post the other message, so I had to take it down.) In in however, I did end it by saying that You remind me of Chris in a lot of ways by how you talk about yourself, and he's a great guy.

I really didn't mean to cause a stir but I think it was a good at that.

God Bless, Lara-Ann

Hey John
I love your blogs and I don't think they're too long. You should be happy that you have the ability to even tell a story. Trust me not everyone has that ability. So don't let anyone tell you your long winded. I was happy to hear about your TV appearances. It just so happens that I've been watching reruns of Dawson's Creek and you were in them. I never watch that show until recently; so I never know you were on it. It was nice to see you play a different role. Well so long for now. Have fun!

Hey John!

I know I already posted once, but I just wanted to throw my vote in with Jessica Baudoin's that you need to let us know where you are in this Lowe's commercial. I've been noticing two new Lowe's commercials airing since last Friday, April 15, in my area and I've made a point to look for you, and I haven't seen you at all. So please let us know where you are or what you're doing in the commercial, because I have a feeling I'm not going to be able to spot you on my own. :)

Oh, I've also started a blog (again) and I'll try to actually keep it updated every couple of weeks, if anybody cares to read about my crazy life.

Dear John,
I guess telling by the title that I love u. Not like stalker I wanna follow u home type of love. I think you are a great addition to the cast. I like that u make Lizzie not so crazy, but I still think Lizzie is insane and u should stay away before she tries to kill u or something. I mean Lizzie not the real acctress, obviously. But I think you are so dreamy and cute and wanted to know if u were dating anyone. Because if your not dating anyone, and I'm not dating anyone..kidding (sort of). But seriously I love the show. Dude I totally miss Marah, not to change the subject. Do u know if she's ever coming back. I read all about u in soap opera something or other and how u got your part on the show. I am trying to save up my money and go to Barbizon, a modeling and acting school. I really want to be on GL, I have been watching this show forever. Back when Roger was still there, and the original Dinah. Tell them to hurry up and get Harley out of jail because we all know she isn't guilty. And why is Tony leaving and not being recast :-(. I hope u stay. Dude I would totally love it if u and Marina got together. I adore the new Marina and u guys would go together better.thanks so much for reading this. Good luck on the show.

Hi, its cynthia.
i met you this weekend at Marco Island, which by the way was AWESOME. i dont mind the long stories, they are better that way.
well i went with 4 friends from my school and i just wanted to say thank you very much for making it such a fun experience. We were the girls from the "little table in the corner" the one allll the way in the back that you visited =). we were the also ones with tons of pictures lol. 0=]. This is kinda weird for me because i dont normally do this but ur work is really great and i normally dont meet or keep track of actors' work like this. Congratulations on all your accompolishments. (i feel like a really dorky teen fan but im not i just never got to say thank you in person which is why i have done this) Yea i just wanted to say once more that it was sooo great to meet all of you and were very grateful. Hope all is well and i can hear from you soon.

Well, it's taken months for me to get back to reading blogs. Something about that last half of the school year and too many things to juggle - something had to go until summer vacation.

John, I happen to like the way you weave a story so that you include all the details - even if some people call it long winded. I do everything short of pounding heads to get third graders to include details in their writing.
