LONG WINDED????

I hope that everyone had a peaceful and relaxing Easter Break or Spring Break or if you don’t celebrate Easter and weren’t on Spring Break, just a great couple of weeks (since my last entry actually). I had a two week period off from the show and really took advantage of it…Back to Virginia, Baby! It was peaceful and relaxing and involved mass consumption of crappy foods, lots of going out with friends, doing laundry for free, sleeping in, driving cars (not public transportation), and even visiting a retirement home to talk with and surprise some unsuspecting grandparents (not mine) as a favor to a family friend. Overall, it was a great trip but like all trips, it ended just as it was really beginning. OH, and by the way, I have a bone to pick with a certain reader of this site……LOL!

To start things off I do have to mention a few great events that will be coming up in 2005 that fans can attend here in New York City where you'll have the opportunity to meet your favorite Daytime Celebrities; not just from Guiding Light but from other New York soaps too!

First: The 1st Annual “Evening with Daytime Stars” benefiting the MS Care Center of Greater NY hosted by Ricky Paul Goldin on May 19, 2005. The event will go from 7pm to 10:30pm and will feature Celebrities from Daytime Soaps, Daytime Talk Shows, and high profile professional athletes. This special event will be held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in their Empire Ballroom. This is a great cause and we’d love to have everyone who has time and change to spare to come out and have a great evening with all of us. If you have any questions about this event you can contact Linda Weingar at “Pro Events Inc.” at (813) 814-0301 or check out their web address at www.proeventsinc.com.

Second: is the Shorefront Friends for Hospice Softball Game which is Saturday, June 11, 2005 at Midwood High School Field, Avenue K and East 16th St., Brooklyn, NY. The gates open at 11am and the game starts at 11:30am. This game pits CBS NY daytime against ABC NY daytime! That’s right, GL & ATWT versus AMC & OLTL once again and if I heard correctly, CBS is the reigning champs so come on out if you can and support your soap, your side, your team, or your player(s). If you’re an ABC fan, then the more the better because honestly, they need all the help they can get, LOL!

Third: The Guiding Light Fan Club Weekend taking place from Friday October 14, 2005 to Sunday, October 16, 2005. This annual event which many of you are already familiar with packs so much charity work and some incredibly fun times into one amazing memorable weekend, and is once again fast approaching. There are so many events that take place over this weekend that I can’t even begin to mention all of them but please check them all out at http://www.officialglfanclub.com. To add to this same weekend, the 11th Annual Daytime Television Salutes St. Jude’s Children event will take place Friday Evening the 14th of October. This event includes all your favorite stars from CBS, NBC, and ABC daytime so this will truly be a weekend to remember.

For more on all these events, please check out the Guiding Light official web page at the address I listed above and get all the details about what’s coming up. PHEWWWW! Alright, so now that I mentioned all of that, I can let ya’ll in on a comment I received. It’s nothing horrible but something that’s very true about how I feel. Let me know what ya’ll think about it (including the writer):

“It seems like you talk how my husband talks (if you have conversations like that-) pretty much it drives me crazy. It's takes him 45 mintes to tell a 15 minute story. Half the time I'm like- here let me finish that sentence for you, now let me finish that one! Oh but God love him.”- lara ann

….um….well what are you trying to say here? My entries are too long? My stories are boring you? You want to finish my stories up for me? WHAT ARE YOU TELLING ME!!?? LOL, I’m only kidding with you, Lara! I think it’s funny that you included that because I know it’s a fact. I’ve been told that many times and I just can’t seem to help the fact that I try not to omit any details from any story and I don’t seem to care how long it takes. I appreciate your honesty, Lara and so, in honor of your comment, I will keep this entry short. One last thing before I go though: I recently filmed a “Lowe’s Home Improvement” commercial which should start airing in mid-April so be on the look out for it along with an interview by E! Entertainment talking about “The 50 Hottest Southern Stars” which airs again on April 7, 2005 at 8pm and then on April 10, 2005 at 6pm on the Entertainment channel. I believe you can preview this segment at www.eonline.com/On/special/50SteamySouthern/index.html. So if you’re looking for a good laugh, check it out and let me know what ya’ll think, of course! I hope that so far 2005 is finding everyone in good spirits and I look forward to more of your comments. All the best!

Long winded? Nah...and even if you are, I'm thankful. First of all, I love to read your stories...and secondly, anytime I can get more than a grunt or a one-word answer out of a man, I am pleased to no end! So, you go right ahead!

I'll be on the lookout for your TV spots...how fun! I'm sure they're great. And, I will (of course) attend as many events as possible this year. I'll definitely be at the GL weekend if nothing else, but I'd love to make it up for the softball game as well. I had a great time last year!

One more thing. How are you gonna come to Virginia and not come to visit ME? Come on now! HaHa! But, I am glad you had a nice break anyway!

Hi John!
Well, I'm one of the few that loves a good long post. I like the details. Of course, I'm also the girl that laughs at those REALLY long birthday cards just because they keep going on and on and on...
Looking forward to seeing you on E!Entertainment and at the end of the month at Marco!

Okay-
First John Chapter Five-

I love your blog! I hope you honestly was not upset by my comment. I meant it positively- I promise! Hey I married Chris (the insane story guy) didn't I? I think it's cute.

And it means your very smart. When a person dosen't pay attention to details that means they are not fully aware or totally not concerned with the atmoshpere around them- or just not bright enough to take everything in.

So all in all- your details is very good, and you should consider writing a book.

(sorry I didn't mean to actually post the other message, so I had to take it down.) In in however, I did end it by saying that You remind me of Chris in a lot of ways by how you talk about yourself, and he's a great guy.

I really didn't mean to cause a stir but I think it was a good at that.

God Bless, Lara-Ann

HaHa John! Doubting Thomas am I none! At least not without good reason! I believe you said "tomorrow" on Saturday, and now it is Monday and I am home with no reading material. Never fear--I still love you. But patience has never been my greatest virtue.

Well, it's taken months for me to get back to reading blogs. Something about that last half of the school year and too many things to juggle - something had to go until summer vacation.

John, I happen to like the way you weave a story so that you include all the details - even if some people call it long winded. I do everything short of pounding heads to get third graders to include details in their writing.
